Canada & Trois-Rivières🇨🇦

☀️🇺🇸 Good Morning!!

We got out early from New Jersey and headed due north through the Adirondack Park! It was once again absolutely beautiful! I never dreamed New York would be this beautiful!

It was an uneventful drive and we were at the border to Canada before we even knew it.

We sailed through with no problems in less than 10 minutes!

Bienvenue!! All the signs changed from English & French, to just French! Alan and I had to rely on nothing but our high school French classes, oh wait we both took Spanish!!!! It was the blind leading the blind, but we are an awesome team and together we navigated our way to the big city of Montreal!

We found parking downtown and got out to walk to the Notre Dame basilica. It’s a beautiful Church, very old in the middle of town. We were starving and also managed to find a McDonalds. We were pretty worried about ordering in French, but thankfully inside they had kiosks and an English option! We ordered our nuggets and burgers and enjoyed lunch on the second floor of the McDonald’s in downtown Montreal. Across the street was a Starbucks where I found my souvenir, then off to the church. It was Sunday and there was a long line of people waiting to get in to pray or light a candle. My heart ached thinking of all those people praying to a god who doesn’t hear them.

After leaving Montreal we once again navigated out and headed towards Trois Rivières and the Hamby family. They are missionaries from our church here in Quebec. We arrived in time for some fellowship and sweet tea! They are such a kind family who offered us lodging for the night and treated us like family! We were there also for their Sunday night service. We were able to hear them beautifully sing hymns in French and Bro. Jason translated for us the message. So awesome to be in their church! They had a special service since a few of their members were on vacation so they had sword drills! Alan really got into it, and one time he won using a French Bible and my man jumped up and did his best to read it in French. They were all so proud of him, I was beaming at my hubby and how awesome he is! 😍 We enjoyed the fellowship with their church. A great group of believers. I especially enjoyed the way the Quebec people greet others, a kiss on each cheek!! It’s my favorite thing!

We spent the rest of the evening talking and eating and enjoying our time together. The girls played so well with their youngest son and we enjoyed fellowshipping! We talked until the wee hours of the morning before we all headed to bed! Tomorrow we are getting up early to meet our newest niece!

Pray for the Hamby family as they minister to the people in Trois Rivières. Jason, Amanda, Joshua, Noah and Luke.

Goodnight! 🇨🇦🌛

  1. The drive through the Adirondack mountains is very nice; our preferred entry to Quebec! I am glad that you were able to visit the Hambys and the church in Trois Rivieres. Enjoy your Monday traveling to Quebec City! Miss you all! Love and prayers for your continued vacation.
