A whirlwind trip! πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‰

πŸŽ‰The best things in life are celebrated with family! πŸŽ‰

We took that to heart this weekend and decided our youngest nephew could not celebrate his first birthday without us. So, we jumped in the car and headed to Ohio for 31 hours of birthday celebrations!

Late night travel!

Alan and I talked and talked until 3am on the first night. We were able to drive almost 1/2 way that night, because we were so into just talking to each other. It felt like when we were dating and could talk forever, the only difference is our conversation centered around raising our girls.

The next morning we got up and headed the rest of the way!

We arrived mid afternoon, today is Henry’s actual birthday! We were so excited to get to see him on this day! Laura has taken a picture of him every month this first year in this chair!

Since we had a late night the night before and an early wake up call we headed to our hotel.

Party time!!!

The next day we headed over to help out for the big party. We cooked, decorated, entertained, did streamers, blew up balloons, and finally it was party time!

It was so much fun to celebrate with him!

Party’s over 😒 31 hours is up, and we are back in the car headed home. πŸš™

Nothing like 24hrs in the car and  31 hours with family to make up a Campbell family getaway!

We love road trips!!!

One missed vacation post, but I’m catching up on this one!Β

We’re off, on yet another vacation! This one is a short one, but nonetheless a vacation for us!!

But, I actually missed blogging for an entire vacation! So, I’ll sum it up in a few words here before I start this vacation!

Myrtle Beach – 2016

We took a trip to Myrtle a few weeks back. We loved it!

The sun – Ryanna’s skin turned golden brown, Bree was covered in SPF 100 and stayed a peachy white, Alan forgot to sunscreen his feet…they swelled up, and in true mommy fashion I forgot to sunscreen myself while keeping the kids covered and burned my back and chest.

The sand – We loved playing in the sand, we built castles, sand sharks, moats, trenches and caught crabs in the sand at night. We also tried skim boarding for the first time.  The girls loved it, until Bree fell onto the sand and fractured her ulna bone…Needless to say the ER staff did not enjoy all the sand we brought in, since we came straight from the beach.

The sea – The water was awesome, there were great waves to boogie board on, body surf, and just bob around in. Then the jellyfish came, poor Bree again got the brunt when a school of jellyfish floated around her stinging her over 14 times. My mommy adrenaline kicked in and I jumped to save my screaming baby and got myself a few nasty stings also. In the end we both went back into the water before we left and refused to let those jellyfish ruin our time!

The company – We were able to enjoy this awesome trip with our friends the Papp’s. They were right beside us through it all, they took care of Ry when Alan and I ran across the beach to take Bree to the ER. They helped soothe the jellyfish stings, they swam with us, played in the sand with us, the best friends we could ask for!

So Myrtle was an exciting time! Bree has 1 more week in her cast, she only has one scar from over 14 jellyfish stings, and mine and Alans sunburns are all peeled off! Ryanna had a great time, she has nothing but awesome memories of Myrtle. We do too, because despite it all, we were together, we handled it, and had a truly awesome time!

Now, we are off to Ohio. There is a nephew who needs celebrating! He’s been in our life a year!
