The girls 50th state trip!!

We are off on another vacation! The girls finished 4th and fifth grade this week and we headed out. This time we are visiting the last 5 states the girls need to make it ALL 50.

Our first day was just a driving day, we headed out for Richmond, Va. A short drive north for us.

We got in pretty early and swam a little in the pool and headed to dinner. Tomorrow is another long day, so we went to bed early with a 6:30 am wake up!

Day 2

We got up early today and we’re out the door by 7:30, only 30 minutes later than planned.

Today we have 9 driving hours ahead of us, but we’re gonna break it up with a stop in Philly!

When we were driving yesterday we realized Alan has never seen the Liberty Bell or Independence Hall. The girls had been when they were younger, but too young to remember so we had to stop.

Philly came 4 hours into the drive, we stoped and spent a great time in the city.

Liberty Bell

Independence Hall

Ry and I had to try Philly Cheesesteaks! Bree and Daddy had chicken.

Betsy Ross’ house

And lastly the US Mint

The girls were tiny the last time they were here!

After Philly, we still had 5 hours to drive so we jumped back in the car and off we went! We headed straight to New York City, but after much google maps debating we caught a glimpse of the city and went around. The George Washington bridge had a 34 minutes wait to get across! We caught the Tappan Zee bridge across the Hudson and entered Conneticut!

State #41 for daddy and 46 for the girls! Conneticut also has pinkberry! So we had to get a snack!

We arrived late to our hotel so we were off to bed!
