San Francisco!! 🌁

Good morning from San Francisco!

We woke up this morning and headed to a place for breakfast Alan had found close to our hotel. My dad reserved this hotel for us and it is right in downtown, it’s so cool!!!

Sammy’s Cafe was great, we got bagels and burritos!

Unfortunately Alan is back to work today, so we girls are on our own today to explore. The good thing is he is working on east coast time and is done by 2pm California time so he plans to meet us a little later.

He decided when we planned this trip he would try to work and play! I told him he didn’t have to because I know he will be exhausted but we’ll see how he does! Today is day 1!

In an effort to be out of the hotel where he is working, the girls and I set out walking around San Francisco. Everything was great when we left Sammy’s then we turned right headed to our first destination…straight up the hill!!!

Lombard Street was just within walking distance so we headed up the street!

At the top there was a cable car parked with Coit tower in the distance! It was a perfect picture!

We walked down Lombard which wasn’t nearly as exciting so we decided to ask Alan if we could drive down it after he picked us up!

We continued our walk down to the wharf where we planned for lunch and shopping. While we walked we spotted Alcatraz in the harbor!

When we reached the wharf we found a few stores then could smell our favorite!!

Boudin!!! The sourdough bread company!

We knew we having lunch here, but it wasn’t lunch time yet so we watched them make different breads in the window then took the bread factory tour before ordering our sourdough bread bowls with clam chowder and chili! It was the perfect lunch with my girls!!

After lunch we walked around the wharf and did some shopping and sightseeing. We also looked for the famous sea lions of San Francisco but instead of animals we found a sign saying they had migrated south to have their pups…little did we know they would show up later on our trip!

Alan’s done with work!!!

We had successfully survived our first day in a city while Alan worked!

We begged him to come get us because we were at the bottom of San Francisco by the water and he was up up up at least 20 blocks! So he came to get us! Then we asked him to take us down Lombard street. Then he turned north instead of south towards LA and said “We can’t come to San Francisco and not drive over the Golden Gate bridge!!” So off we went! It was beautiful and I am glad we went!

I just love us!!

Alan also made sure to get just our picture! 21 years ago I brought him to California for the first time and brought him to this exact same spot! The few times we’ve been back we have always gotten a picture of us! It’s crazy to think just twenty some years later here we are with our girls!

Love my man!!! 😘πŸ₯°

Off to Wowo’s???? Not yet!!!

The Full house house!!

Now to Wowo’s??? Nope! 🀣

He had to make one more stop!! My favorite place in San Francisco! I didn’t want to walk up to it so he drove me! Coit Tower…I’m not sure why it’s my favorite but for as long as I can remember it has been. My favorite sight to see when we go there!

Now to Wowo’s!!!

Well…almost, less than an hour down the road the old familiar ding of the tire pressure monitor came on! I could not believe it, same tire again!!!

Thankfully we were old hats at changing it and rearranging everything and once again God is faithful and supplied a tire shop that was 30 minutes from closing and agreed to patch the tire which just had a screw in it. Less than an hour later we were back on our way!!

I’m going home to my city by the Bay
I left my heart in San Francisco
High on a hill, it calls to me
To be where little cable cars climb halfway to the stars
The morning fog may chill the air, I don’t care
My love waits there in San Francisco
Above the blue and windy sea
When I come home to you, San Francisco
Your golden sun will shine for me

  1. You know this is my absolute most favorite city of all the cities we have visited! Your dad proposed here!! (He is a closet romanticist.)
